Technology and Governance Network (TGN)
We are a group of academics and practitioners interested in exploring the impact of information technologies on the emancipation of human beings. To this end we continuously challenge existing ideas, methods and practices that promote the use of technology in areas like education, business sustainability, health or electronic government.
To support our work we promote the development of methods and frameworks to enable critical reflection, debate and collective action. As a by-product of our research, we aim to generate alternative forms of governance within and across profit and not-for-profit organisations.
The network continues to build on the achievements of the E-government and Local Integration with Sustainability (ELIS) group initially set up at the University of Hull. At Royal Holloway, University of London, we also contribute to the activities of other groups and research centres.
Our ethics is about promoting inclusiveness, participation and joined up thinking, as well as collaborations of mutual benefit for academia and industry.
